Abstract Submission and Funding Support for Attending 23rd World Congress of Soil Science

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 23rd World Congress of Soil Science (https://www.23wcss.org.cn/), jointly organized by the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) and the Soil Science Society of China (SSSC). The congress will be held from June 7 to 12, 2026 in Nanjing, China, under the theme “Soil and the Shared Future of Humanity.” Your presence will significantly enhance the academic value of the event, and we warmly welcome your attendance.  

In addition to the high-level academic sessions, the Congress will feature selected field trips, cutting-edge scientific exhibitions, and rich cultural activities. We warmly invite you to not only engage with the latest research but also enjoy an immersive experience of China's natural and social landscapes, ensuring a productive and memorable visit.

Abstract Submission Deadline

The deadline for abstract submission is December 23, 2025. We sincerely invite you to Submit Your Abstract (https://registration.23wcss.org.cn/Userlogin/login?mid=1089&sid=4282) by this date to facilitate the organization of the conference agenda.

Funding Support

To encourage active participation, the congress offers the following funding awards:

  • Nanjing Awards for Distinguished Scientists (https://www.23wcss.org.cn/Nan/index.html): This award aims to engage influential researchers who will deliver high - quality oral presentations and actively promote the congress within their professional and social networks (max. US$ 2000/person).
  • Travel Awards for Early-Career Scientists (https://www.23wcss.org.cn/ta/index.html): This initiative aims to support promising graduate students and early - career researchers by providing financial assistance for travel and registration expenses (max. US$ 1000/person).
  • Attendance Grant for Council Member Representatives from Low - and Middle - Income Countries (https://www.23wcss.org.cn/Attendance/index.html): This grant is designed to encourage and assist representatives of IUSS Full Members from less developed countries with limited budgets to attend the congress (max. US$ 3000/person).
  • Funding Support for the 5th International Soil Judging Contest (https://www.23wcss.org.cn/fe/index.html): To encourage professionals in the global soil science community to participate in the 5th International Soil Judging Contest, cultivate outstanding early - career talents, and promote international cooperation (max. US$ 2000/person).

Lead or Participate in Academic Activities

In addition to regular academic presentations and discussions, we also welcome experts to initiate or assist in organizing other relevant activities during the congress (such as Plenary Sessions, Parallel Sessions, etc.) based on their interests.
